UNIBIOMEDICS Srl: a new spin off of the University La Sapienza, Rome

UNIBIOMEDICS srl On 20 November 2008 was established at the Sapienza University
in Rome, with the presence of Rector, Prof. Luigi Frati and the Vice Rector for Research and Development, Prof. Luciano Caglioti,
the company UNIBIOMEDICS Inc., University spin off born from an enterprise idea which shared the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Astronautics (Prof. Claudio Scarponi), the Department of Radiological Sciences (Prof. Roberto Passariello) and a large group of companies in the biomedical field, such as M.C.H. Mark Morelli and NSA-Nuclear Specialists Associated Srl, Rome,
Giò-Marco SpA, Venice, LA Sordina SpA, Vicenza and the DS Medigroup Srl, Milan.
The world of knowledge meets the world of doing. The goal of University spin off its just that making feasible and profitable some ideas arising from research lines with the production of goods to enter the market. The first products, already in advanced study, range from implementation of intraoperative probes for the innovative technique
of sentinel lymph node (LNS), the Nanofibers for achieving the production of clothing,
the medical filters to block bacteria and several types of viruses, to implement systems and methodologies for e-learning upgrading the medical staff (the famous CME courses), the use of special materials, typical aerospace applications for the production of surgical robot and use of materials biocompatible for certain hospital supplies. The ambition
of UNIBIOMEDICS Srl is to become a true center of excellence in National Development of new technologies in the biomedical field.
